In Pesaro, Italy, the home town of Rossini, there is a gelateria opposite the Teatro Rossini in which opera videos play day and night while you savor your gelati.

In Torre del Lago, near Lucca in Tuscany, it is still possible to find evidence of how this place inspired the great Italian composer Giacomo Puccini and also how he has inspired commerce there nowadays. Watch the two videos below.

In Lucca, Italy, one can visit the house where Giacomo Puccini was born. Fred went there in 2008, the 150th anniversary of the composer’s birth.

Luciano Pavarotti, the great tenor, was a friend and colleague of long standing and a wonderful man. I went to visit his tomb almost a year after his death.
